About Me

My name is W. Marie Giles and I currently live in Florida with my husband.  I am recently retired and finally pursuing some of the things I have always wanted to do.  I am the owner and designer of greeting cards, bookmarks, and self-published books under the name of Heart-in-Hands Enterprises.

I have been on a journey of self-discovery and self-improvement nearly all my life. I have come to realize that the journey does not end, for it is in the journey that you continue to improve your outlook and reach a higher level of fulfillment.

I have a passion for the written word and I love to read all kinds of books, magazines, and other printed material.

I began creating bookmarks shortly before my mother passed away in 2001.  I experimented with different designs. After I was informed of her death, I wanted to create something for the family to remember her by.  I decided on a bookmark bearing a cameo-shaped picture of her with a poem that said just what I believe she would have.  I created nearly 50 of these bookmarks, using inkjet transparencies and card stock.  I assembled them with a gold ribbon and passed them out to family and friends.

I have always enjoyed writing and am continually trying to improve my effectiveness through reading, observing, listening, speaking, and loving life.  I have published 2 books and am currently working on a third.

Writing - poetry and other words of wisdom - for this I have to have some particular inspiration. It comes from many sources and usually when I least expect it. My books are full of these kinds of expressions.

Reading - My eye seems to be naturally drawn to the written word. You can learn so very much by reading. I read all kinds of books and magazines. Having an amazon Kindle makes the possibilities unlimited!

Making customized, individualized Greeting Cards and Bookmarks - I love coming up with unique, one-of-a-kind designs made especially for a particular individual.
